Deon Claassens was born in England and grew up in South Africa in a city called Port Elizabeth.  He finished his schooling in 1976 and joined the Army from 1977 to 1979. Deon went to the University of Cape Town Medical School in 1980 and graduated as a Medical Doctor in 1987.

Deon has spent 2 years working as a doctor in rural Canada and then in General Practice in South Africa till 1994. He immigrated to New Zealand in May 1994 and started working in Auckland where He was in General Practice in West Auckland and Whangaparaoa till 2014.

Deon moved to Blenheim in the South Island in 2014 where he currently co-owns a GP practice.

Deon is married to Roleen who is also originally from South Africa and they have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 grandchildren. Both Roleen and Deon gave their lives to the Lord Jesus in 1994 after they had arrived in New Zealand, so God had a plan in moving them away from their old lives in South Africa, into a new country.

Deon brings a wealth of knowledge in the Medical sector and is passionate about seeing this nation reclaimed for God and seeing New Zealand return to its Judaeo Christian heritage.
