'Activity is not the same as doing something significant'

We acknowledge the impact of the housing crisis has seen a significant increase in homelessness.  This includes people sleeping on streets and in cars.   One of the keys factors of this issue, is the lack of affordable social housing.   We acknowledge at-risk groups are mental-health, drug and alcohol addictions and those genuinely experiencing difficult times for one reason or another.

ONE Party are opposed to New Zealand citizens having to live on the streets and in cars.

  1. We support the increase of building affordable new homes.
  2. We support the need to build and release funding for the development of emergency shelters in all the main cities: Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and wherever else is needed.
  3. We support the need to increase funding for wrap around social services.
  4. We support funding be made available for Housing Crisis teams within those areas, with priority going to adults with children.
